More Information - Lake Traffic Court

The Lake County Superior Court's Traffic Division is your one stop shop when you need to resolve traffic infractions and citations. In most cases, you will receive a Courtesy Notice issued by this division after receiving a ticket or traffic citation. The courtesy notice will contain all the information you need to know in order to resolve the traffic ticket.

In order to pay for your traffic violation, you can simply visit the clerk's office in person, on the phone or by mailing a check/money order at the address mentioned in your courtesy notice. No cash payments are accepted via mail. Another option you have is to pay online using the online automated payment systems through a credit card.

You may be eligible to attend traffic school if you meet these criteria:

  • You have not attended traffic school in the last 18 months.
  • You do not possess a commercial driver's license.
  • You are not being charged with a drug or alcohol related offense.
  • You are not being charged with a 2 point violation as per the DMV count.

If you meet these requirements, you can request traffic school after paying the bail amount as well as an administrative fee of $49. These payments can be made via mail, using the online system, as well as in person. For more information regarding your citation and eligibility for traffic school, you may call the clerk's office in the Lakeport Traffic Division at (707) 263-2374 and the Clearlake Traffic Division at (707) 994-6598.

An additional attendance fee will be charged by the traffic school you choose. For a list of DMV recognized and licensed Internet, home study, and classroom based traffic schools, check here.
