More Information - Solano Traffic Court

The Solano Court Traffic Division requires three to four weeks to mail a Courtesy Notice to the address you listed when you were cited for a traffic infraction. This notice will give you all the pertinent information about the total bail amount you need to pay, the due date by which the payment needs to be made, whether or not a mandatory court appearance is required and so on. The notice will also tell you about the various payment options you have when it comes to handling the traffic infraction citation.

You can make the payment online using credit cards for the Fairfield Branch or the Vallejo Branch as mentioned in the notice. Alternately, you can also pay by using the automated phone systems by calling 1-800-496-4085 (Fairfield Branch) or 1-800-687-2069 (Vallejo Branch). Payments can also be made in person or via mail.

You may be eligible to attend traffic school depending on whether or not you meet the eligibility criteria, which are:

  • You have a valid driver's license.
  • You do not possess a commercial driver's license.
  • Calculated from violation date to violation date, you have not attended traffic school in the past 18 months.
  • There is no Failure to Appear or Failure to Pay charge against you.
  • You were cited for a moving traffic violation.
  • Your citation was in no way related to drugs or alcohol use or possession.
  • If you were cited for a speeding violation, it was not 25 mph over the posted speed limit.

If you are eligible for traffic school and choose to attend, you will have to clear the entire outstanding bail amount as well as additional administrative fee of $52. Here you can obtain a list of DMV's approved Internet, home study, or classroom based Traffic Violator Schools.
