More Information - San Mateo Traffic School

San Mateo County's website provides a wide array of online options to manage your traffic violations. If you have made any traffic violation, wait for the Court to mail Courtesy Notice. Your court appearance date is mentioned at the bottom of the traffic ticket. If the Courtesy Notice is not delivered a week before the court date, call Traffic Division to check the status of the same.

You will have to appear for the court hearing if it is mandatory; or else you can simply pay the required fines online, by mail, or in person. In case you are planning to plead guilty without providing any explanation, use the link to initiate the process. If you are not guilty and plan to contest the charge or if you want to contest the charge anyway, the procedure is explained on this page. Photo enforced red light violations can also be obtained online. Ticket disputes and infraction violations can be managed online as well.

If qualified, you have an option of attending traffic school. You, however, need to pay the bail amount mentioned on the traffic ticket and an additional $57 in administrative charges. Traffic school fees are additional and must be paid by you. The required forms can be downloaded, filled out, and submitted online along with fine and fees. All MasterCard and Visa cards are accepted as well other major credit cards. You can locate an approved traffic school near you by clicking here.

It is highly recommended that you attend traffic school programs if you qualify for them. Not doing so will increase your auto insurance premium considerably.
